Welcome,
I have been playing Runescape for many years. I have made more millions than many of you will believe at this point in time.
This game has given me hours and hours of enjoyment and I give many thanks to the creators, however I feel I have achieved as much as I can in the game and now feel it is the right time to share my methods of making money.
Well now you know my situation and why I have written this, but that’s enough of that lets get on with what you really want to know.
Must know Beginners tips
The information I give in this section is for beginners therefore intermediate/advanced players may know much of this key information but I suggest you read it be sure.
When you are buying or selling items in a crowded area you should use flashes and waves, you do this by when in the game type, ‘flash1:do dar’ and the ‘do dar’ will flash above your head, you can also use ‘flash2’, ‘flash3’. using wave and scroll works in the same way as flashes, but when using wave scroll you do not use numbers after it like the flashes for example ‘wave:do dar‘.
As well as buying and selling in banks you can use the forums, they are quick to get use to, members can post on them, non-members can only read them but this is still very useful as you can just add the buying or seller to your friends list and talk to them that way.
Another tip when trading in a crowded place is to turn off public chat and put it on hide, that way you can see if people want to trade with you with ease, without other peoples’ typing getting in the way. As shown on the next page.
When buying and selling write your username after what you are buying or selling that way people can see who to trade with.
In order to be able to sell a lot of an item at a time you withdraw it from your bank in note form as show below 
Finally, getting on world 1 and 2 is quite hard, once you have got on them and if you need to change worlds open a another window to get on the other world, therefore when u need to go back on world 1 or 2 you just go to the window with it ready and log in.
Obtaining Collateral
In order to make big money you need to have money to make more money. The following chapter will show techniques in how to make your first 250k+ needed to make millions. (if you have 600k+ I suggest skipping this chapter)
Non-members
It takes non-members a lot longer to make money than a member, but here is a method a good friend of mine told me how he started to make cash before he got membership. He made his money by selling feathers which are dropped by chickens when you kill them. You should sell feathers for 10 gp each, sell them on world 1 in ‘varrock west bank’ or try and find a buyer on the forums and you will only really be able to sell when u have 1k feathers or more. Once you have got about 10k gp you should try and buy feathers for 3-5 gp each around where you kill the chickens, as you know you can sell them for more than 5 gp each.
Members
The method I used to make money was by killing chaos druids or al-kharid guards, I did this as they drop unidentified herbs (known as unids) and these sell for 1k each. To sell these you need to go on world 2 ‘falador east bank’ and sell in the situation shown below. 
You should sell when you have 11 stacks of unids and sell only in note form this is shown in more detail in ‘Making your first million‘.
You could also sell arrow shafts for 10 gp each. All you need to do this is get a knife and an axe. You chop down trees (only normal trees not oak etc.), when you have a full inventory of logs use the knife with a log then right click on the ‘make arrow shafts’ then click make x and type in the amount of logs you have this will make 15 shafts per log when you have at least 1k you can sell them in the position shown below or use the forums to sell.
General business knowledge
In this section I will simply outline what you are trying to achieve only in a universal way. The following chapters will explain how to apply these methods in Runescape.
In the business world the most money is in being the middle man/merchant. An example of where being a middle man creates huge amounts of money are companies that organize the process for a company to be brought by another company (known as mergers). If the organizing company charges just 1% of the selling price of the company and the company is worth 500 M ( many large companies are worth billions) 1%of 500 M is 5M, pretty impressive. If company sells for 200 billion (a company like Volkswagen or shell), then the organizer charges 1% they will make a massive $2billion, now that’s what I call good money!
More relating to the game the business you want to be in is merchanting, which is basically buying for low and selling for higher but doing this a lot.
Making Your First Million
The way I made my first million (as a member) was by hanging around in the ‘al-kharid palace’ getting people to get unidentified herbs (know as unids) and: paying them 500 gp per herb, (then selling at ‘falador east bank’ on world 2) for 1K per unid. On the first day I made over 800K.
The time following I found a way to increase my profits. I did this by when the unids were in my bank I would select the 4th biggest pile and identifying one of the herbs in its pile if it was ranarr weed I would identify some of them but leaving a few so there are still 11 piles, then sold the ranerrs for 5 k each! If the 4th biggest pile was not ranarr I would search till I found the pile of ranarrs (remember only identify 1 of each pile till you find the ranarrs). With this method I was making over a million a day on Sundays I could make over 1.5 million. Unfortunately its much harder to get workers who will accept 500 gp per unid anymore, but it can be done.
Another much better method to make millions which non members can also do is to buy large amounts of steel bars at 550-580 gp each from falador east bank on world 1. Then sell them for 600-650 gp each on the forums with ease. Really you need to buy at least 1k at a time to be able to sell them. When I did this I used to buy around 60k steel bars in a day selling them for on average 625 gp each and buying for 560 gp each and making a profit of around 3.9m a day. When buying I bought any amount however low, it all adds up.
How to make good money
Once you have a good amount of cash you can start getting bigger profits by merchanting more expensive items. I normally merchant barrows items, I either buy on world 2 in the park near falador east bank, (position shown below)
And then sell on the forums or I buy on forums and sell here. This is not hard to do, just look on forums to see what prices people pay for a certain item e.g. torags legs then see if u can buy for less in the game, or the other way around. Normally you can find an item you can do this to a lot. When you have enough cash you could also merchant party hats or santa hats in the same way (buying in game sell on forums/buying on forums sell in game, which is basically how to merchant in Runescape.
Non members can merchant party hats santa hats masks etc. but it is not as effective as you can not post on the forums (you can read them though), also you can not go to the falador park on world 2.
Asset Protection
This section will show common scams to watch out for so you don’t lose your hard earned cash.
Always check the second window when trading, some people first offer say 200,000 gp then quickly remove 180,000 gp to make it 20,000 without you noticing. I have fallen for it myself, but never again after that lost 5m back when that was a dam lot to me, I was not in a good mood after that lol.
People in banks sometimes say ‘ Free Gem cutting’, but if you give them gems they can just take them and not give them back.
Never drop trade, the other person could not drop their item take your and they walk off the richer, and your left poorer.
Some scammers say if drop your items and press Alt and f4 then your double your items or something like that, however if you do this you will log out and lose your items.
No one can trim armour, you can only get this from clue scrolls or buy it off another user but it always originates from clue scrolls.
If someone demands you give them your items as they are Jagex Staff or a mod and if you don’t they will block you I suggest you report them and put them on ignore, they won’t be able to block.
How to spend your millions wisely
Here I am just warning you about not buying items for more than they’re worth. The most expensive items tend to be discontinues items, you can check what all the discontinued items are by looking on the forums under discontinued items and there is a post listing them all. I suggest you buy discontinued items if you have that much money to spare as they can only they can only get rarer.
